In 1992, David G. Shink, CFP® began providing financial advice. Today, as the Director of Client Services and Investment Advisor Representative of Financial Institution Services, LLC, he continues that mission to serve a select group of individuals, families and small business. The core commitment is for clients to achieve two primary objectives: a rational investing approach and a commitment to decisions that build financial strength.
Investor behavior determines a great portion of results. It sounds simple, yet when real time discipline and rational consideration of options is required, individuals often choose sub-optimal tactics and strategies. Emotion and cognitive bias push the investor mind in numerous flawed directions. By forming long term relationships, advisor and client can work through tough decisions effectively. This is a process of incremental refinement and continuous learning.
This process is never easy. The macro economic cycle will provide endless challenges and surprises that can often lead to anxiety and lack of commitment to the long-term strategies required for robust, sustainable outcomes.
A relentless effort in the quest for quality investments has driven exploration as to why investors fall short from what they should accumulate and to share what we learn. In addition to encouraging smart investor behavior, David also explores how our relationship with money and what we choose to value can impact our lives, family, work and beyond.
